Choose the test that answers your monitoring question
Ultrasonic testing products assess different aspects of a process. A satisfactory cavitation response does not by itself establish instrument cleanliness, disinfection or sterility.
| Method | What it helps assess | Limits to check |
|---|---|---|
| MZS-5635 cavitation indicator vials | Qualitative, comparative response at a defined location in the bath. | Follow the vial IFU for placement, the full cycle and reading window. The result is not a calibrated acoustic measurement or a residue test. |
| Ultrasonic cleaner test strips | The cleaning challenge or response specified for the selected strip. | Use that product's instructions, compatible equipment and acceptance criteria. Do not transfer the vial procedure to strips. |
| Aluminium foil test material | Physical effects on a reproducible foil target under defined conditions. | Control material, fixture, position and exposure; compare with a suitable baseline. Perforation does not prove instrument cleanliness. |

Identify the equipment model, monitoring purpose and applicable procedure. Check compatibility, preparation, loading condition, placement, exposure and result criteria in the equipment and product instructions. The MZS-5635 five-minute cycle is specific to that vial; it is not a universal cycle for strips or foil.
Keep comparable conditions and record the equipment, method, positions, cycle, result and any corrective action. Set frequency according to the equipment instructions, applicable requirements and the facility procedure.
For preparation and recording, use the step-by-step ultrasonic cleaner testing guide. For the differences between methods, see the indicator comparison.
