Mediwish Type 4 chemical indicator cards provide a clear red-to-blue color change after exposure to ethylene oxide (EO/ETO) under the specified process conditions. Designed for routine monitoring of EO sterilization cycles.
Type 4 EO/ETO Chemical Indicator for Ethylene Oxide Sterilization
Mediwish EO/ETO chemical indicator strips are designed for routine internal monitoring of ethylene oxide sterilization processes. The chemically treated indicator area changes from red to blue after exposure to the specified critical process variables, providing a clear visual distinction between unprocessed and processed items.
Clear red-to-blue indication
This product is a Type 4 multivariable chemical indicator intended for use with EO/EtO gas sterilization. The visible color transition supports fast checking, load documentation and traceability in hospitals, sterile processing departments and medical device manufacturing facilities.

How to use the EO indicator strip
- Place the indicator inside the package, tray or load in accordance with the product instructions for use and the facility’s validated procedure.
- Process the load using the validated EO sterilization cycle.
- After processing and the required aeration, compare the indicator color with the specified endpoint.
- Record the result according to the facility’s sterilization quality procedures.
The stated values describe the response endpoint of the chemical indicator under defined test conditions. They are not recommended sterilizer cycle settings.

Frequently asked questions
Does the blue color prove that the product is sterile?
No. The color change shows that the indicator was exposed to the specified EO process variables. A chemical indicator alone cannot prove sterility.
Can this strip replace biological monitoring?
No. Chemical indicators should be used together with physical cycle records, biological monitoring and an established sterilization quality assurance program.
