Mediwish Type IV Peracetic Acid Sterilant — Solution A is the first component of a two-part liquid system intended for professional medical-device reprocessing. Solution A must be combined with Solution B in a 1:1 ratio. After activation, the concentrate contains 2.7–3.3% (w/v) peracetic acid.
Important: Solution A is not a standalone or ready-to-use disinfectant. It must only be used with the corresponding Solution B and prepared according to the current product label, instructions for use and safety data sheet.

General preparation and use
- Confirm that the device manufacturer permits immersion processing with peracetic acid.
- Thoroughly pre-clean, rinse, inspect and disassemble the device as required before chemical processing.
- Wear the personal protective equipment specified in the safety data sheet and work in a properly ventilated area.
- Mix Solution A and Solution B in a 1:1 ratio and prepare the final working solution strictly according to the current instructions for use.
- Verify the peracetic acid concentration using the specified compatible test method before use.
- Completely immerse all compatible surfaces. Remove air from joints, cavities and lumens and ensure uninterrupted solution contact.
- Maintain the concentration, temperature and contact time specified for the intended application.
- After processing, rinse, dry and handle the device according to its manufacturer’s instructions and the facility’s validated procedure.
Safety and material compatibility
- The activated system is a strong oxidizing chemical. Avoid contact with the skin and eyes and avoid inhaling vapour or mist.
- Do not mix Solution A or the activated system with any chemicals other than the specified Solution B and approved dilution water.
- Confirm compatibility with metals, polymers, adhesives, coatings, optics and electronic components before processing.
- Special attention is required for materials susceptible to corrosion, including iron and copper.
- Store the closed original container in a cool, dark, dry and well-ventilated location, away from heat, flames and incompatible chemicals.
- Keep out of the reach of children and restrict handling to trained personnel.
Important limitations
The applicable concentration, dilution, temperature, contact time, reuse period, rinsing requirements and disposal method must be taken from the current label, instructions for use and safety data sheet. Liquid chemical sterilization by immersion does not itself create a protected package for sterile storage. Processed devices must be handled according to the validated clinical workflow and applicable local requirements.
