Tyvek Sterilization Pouches are designed to provide a safe and secure environment for medical instruments and equipment during the sterilization process. Constructed from %100 high density polyethylene Dupont Tyvek paper and PET/PP laminated film, these pouches are designed to create three independent barriers to contamination. The transparent multilayer laminated film allows for easy identification of the contents, while the dual band seal provides a strong seal strength with visible sealing lines. All imprints are located outside the packing area to prevent ink migration to the products, and the pouches are water based and non toxic. The Tyvek Sterilization Pouches are compatible with all Low Temperature Hydrogen Peroxide sterilization systems, and the easy to peel off design allows for quick and easy access to the contents. The pouches are designed to protect and preserve medical instruments and equipment during the sterilization process, and can be used in a variety of medical settings, such as hospitals, clinics, and doctor’s offices.

Tyvek pouches for sterilization.
Product Description. Purpose.
The tyvek pouch is designed for plasma sterilization and is suitable for sterilization with hydrogen peroxide vapors. The pouches are designed for packing medical devices and their further sterilization using the plasma method in sterilizers. The pouches are designed specifically for hydrogen peroxide vapor sterilization, but gamma irradiation sterilization is also possible.
Mediwish Co., Ltd specially produces Tyvek pouches and Tyvek rolls for use in high-tech plasma sterilization machines such as STERRAD® and others.
Why Choose Tyvek Sterilization Pouches?
- Unsurpassed Microbial Barrier: Tyvek's unique non-woven construction creates a robust barrier against microorganisms, safeguarding instruments from contamination before, during, and after sterilization.
- Compatible with all plasma sterilizers on the market
- Clean Peel Design: Tyvek pouches generate minimal fibers upon opening, minimizing the risk of particulate contamination within sterile environments.
- Triple-seal design. The thermo-seam, consisting of three parallel guides, provides the package with absolute strength.
- Do not require additional equipment for hermetic sealing
- Chevron style. The corners of the sterile pouches are additionally sealed to prevent dust from accumulating in them.
- Durability and Tear Resistance: The high-density polyethylene fibers of Tyvek material ensure exceptional strength and tear resistance, protecting instruments during handling and storage.
- All inscriptions are printed outside the area where the tool is placed.
- During sealing, the color of the film under the seam changes color, allowing visual inspection of the sealing quality.
- Crystal-Clear Visibility: A transparent film on one side allows for easy identification of instruments without compromising pouch integrity.
- Thumb notch. Finger cutouts make it easy to open the package.
- Extended Sterility Preservation: Tyvek pouches maintain sterility for up to five years when stored correctly, optimizing inventory management.
- The material of the bag provides hign strength of the thermal seam
Technical Specifications:
Tyvek® flat/film pouches are combination sterilization packaging consisting of multilayer polymer film (transparent side) combined with Tyvek material (opaque side).
Pouch material
The rolls and pouches are manufactured from Dupont's Tyvek 1073b nonwoven polypropylene material ( 1073b Tyvek) and multilayer durable transparent film (PA/PE), heat-seamed together.
The Tyvek pouches are rectangular envelopes made of Tyvek® nonwoven material, which consists of high-density polyethylene fibers and clear multilayer film.
Applications of Tyvek Pouches
Sterilization packaging materials are used for long-term storage of medical instruments in sterile conditions.
Ready-to-use flat bags for plasma sterilization are designed for packaging for subsequent sterilization of small instruments and medical devices. Tyvek pouches are used for sterilization and storage of medical instruments and materials, and they preserve sterility after sterilization for five years by sealing with a heat seal machine. Flat self seal sterilization pouches using hydrogen peroxide vapor are readily permeable to the appropriate sterilizing agent, closed, impermeable to microorganisms, and retain integrity after sterilization by the proper method.
Product Characteristics:
The bag meets the requirements of ISO 11607-2011.
Manufacturing Process
Mediwish tyvek packaging for sterilization are manufactured in the Hefei Luyang Industrial Zone Plant of MEDIWISH. The plant is ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 certified. As a requirement for certification, the plant has an established Quality System Manual.
The nonwoven material of the sterilization bags is marked with size, colored chemical indicators, instructions for use, and schematic direction of opening.
On the nonwoven side in the seam of the bag are printed special chemical indicators of plasma sterilization class 1, which change color after sterilization and thus allow to distinguish between sterilized and non-sterilized products;
Acceptable sterilization methods and compatibility
- VH202 Plasma sterilization
- Low-temperature sterilization methods
Tyvek rolls and bags can be used in gas (using EtO (ethylene oxide) and formaldehyde) sterilizing gas, Electron-beam and steam sterilization*.
*However, the recommended temperature for steam sterilization when using Tyvek pouches for steam sterilization should not exceed 121°C.Heat Seal Sterilization Pouches
Heat seal closure.
Tyvek heat-seal rolls and sterilization pouches are sealed using a heat sealer. The heat sealable of bags is carried out with the help of a heat-welding device (packaging machine*).
Shelf life. Storage conditions
The shelf life of Tyvek packaging is five years. Store in a dry place, protected from direct sunlight, at temperatures from +5оС to +40оС.
Sterility preservation period.
The maximum sterility preservation period of products sterilized in the packages is 5 years. Subject to storage in double packaging and dust covers.
